Funding to arts programs helps support professional artists and organizations.


Grants in the United States support professional artists and provide artistic organizations, cultural institutions and museums with funding to engage in research, develop art exhibitions and promote the arts. The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation


The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation provides individual support grants to longtime professional artists to support their development and career growth. To apply, artists must have worked in the areas of sculpture, painting or printmaking for at least 20 years and provide evidence of financial need. Application forms are available by written request only. Applications must include samples of the artist's work, a career statement and a financial disclosure statement. The amount of award varies depending on the application. Applications are due by Dec. 15 of each calendar year.


The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts


The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts awards grant funding to support museum exhibitions, visual arts based programming, writing for the arts, artist in residence programs, and initiatives to support artists' rights. Artistic organizations, museums and cultural institutions can apply for grant funding. Applications must include a project overview, organizational mission, vision and goals, budget, proof of IRS charitable tax status and a letter of support. Applications are due by March 1 and Sept. 1 of each calendar year.


National Endowment for the Arts


National Endowment for the Arts grants provide funding to support artist communities, art education, dance, design, visual and media arts, folk arts, theater, opera and artistic literature. Grant awards range from $10,000 to $100,000. To apply, applicants must submit a project proposal, budget, samples of artistic work and letters of support. Grants are awarded based on artistic merit and excellence. Application deadlines vary depending on the grant program.


The Pollock-Krasner Foundation


The Pollock-Krasner Foundation awards one-year grants to artists working in the fields of printmaking, sculpture or painting. The grants are awarded based on artistic merit and demonstrated financial need. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. To apply, artists must have a current artistic exhibition at a museum or gallery, submit an application, cover letter and samples of artistic work.
