Sakura is the main female character from the anime and manga "Naruto." When drawing a picture of Sakura, making her into a mermaid is an option for interesting cross-over ideas and personalized art. Before starting any drawing design, it is important to decide on which type of mermaid to draw and which season of "Naruto" to use for Sakura. If using the first season, she has mid-back length hair, but later seasons she has chin-length hair.
Instructions
1. Draw the basic rough shapes for the mermaid body and pose. The rough shapes include an oval for the head, a line down the middle for the spine which goes clear to the bottom of the body, a circle at the waist to show where the fin starts, a line or circles at the shoulder level and lines coming from the shoulder circles for arms in any preferred pose. Put a bubble at the elbow and hand locations for proportioning.
2. Define the body details of the drawing. Sketch the details around the proportioning and rough shapes to form the body and structure of the face. This is the basic outline of the body and face. Sketch in the tail shape of any preferred mermaid tail style. Look at the reference picture as needed for the preferred style of fin. Erase the original rough shapes.
3. Draw in Sakura's face and hair. Base the face off the reference picture, drawing in the hair as appropriate for the preferred season. Keep in mind that Sakura's face should have a slightly large forehead when compared to other characters. Draw Sakura's shirt as the top of the mermaid body if preferred. Otherwise, use shells, a swimsuit top or any other preferred top.
4. Refine the details. Make adjustments as needed and work on the fine detailing of the body, such as scales on the fins or making Sakura's hands webbed for easier swimming. Add in the small details like the ninja forehead protector Sakura wears like a headband and shadowing.
5. Add color as preferred. Sakura's eyes should have a light green color and her hair should be a light pink. If her top is the top from "Naruto," color it a dark pink or mauve color. Color the mermaid fin any preferred color.
