Instructions
Steps
1. Search online for a child modeling agency in your city. Modeling agencies that cater only to children are likely to have more experienced child photographers. This is important when it comes to patience and getting babies to follow instructions. However, choose the best modeling agency for you in terms of expectation and quality.
2. Obtain a profile sheet (or information sheet) from the modeling agency, either by mail or online. You will need to gather all the necessary information regarding your baby's modeling career before you start filling out the form.
3. Fill out the goal section on the profile sheet. The purpose of this section is to explain your motive for modeling your baby. Are you seeking to further develop your child's talent through commercial modeling? Are you modeling your child for the sake of travel or financial reasons, or do you just want to share that special something about your child with the world? All these questions are important because they will determine whether or not you have the commitment to persevere when the going gets tough in a challenging modeling industry.
4. Fill in the statistic section of the profile sheet. Record your baby's name, date of birth, size, weight, hair and eye color, and feet size. This information will help the modeling agency fulfill a client's request for a baby model that fits your child's description. A client may want to shoot a commercial using a blue-eyed baby with blond hair and dimples. If this is your baby, then the opportunity is there for you.
5. Include a set of baby pictures with the profile sheet. You may take these pictures yourself or hire an experienced photographer. This will allow the modeling agency to see the natural skin tones and facial expression of your child. Include in the picture set a profile shot and two facial shots: one with a smile and one without a smile.
