Use the Bushnell Banner Rifle Scope With BDC
Bushnell is renowned for making high-quality rifle and shotgun scopes. One of their better known product lines is the Banner series. The Banner 3-9 x 40mm rifle scope includes a bullet drop compensator (BDC). This device allows the scope to be adjusted for long-range ballistics. As the name implies, it literally compensates for bullet drop. Using this model of scope is fairly simple, and mastering its BDC only requires a little practice.
Instructions
1. Start by taking hold of your rifle properly. Place your main hand on the grip and your secondary hand on the stock, forward of the trigger. Place the rifle butt firmly into your shoulder.
2. Adjust the scope to the desired magnification. This is done by twisting the ring forward of the eyepiece to the desired setting. What that is depends on the size of the target and the range, but as a rule a shooter should not strain to see a target.
3. Adjust for estimated bullet drop. On the top-center of the scope is a knob controlling bullet drop, which will make micro-adjustments in the scope's elevation to compensate for this. Bushnell builds their scopes to make audible clicks, so you do not need to look at the knob to change it. Instead, you can merely count the clicks up or down to the desired setting.
4. Place the reticle (crosshairs) on the target.
5. Squeeze the trigger. Do not pull it.
