Directions To Create A Bead Lizard

Pony beads are large seed beads.


Pony beads are large seed beads. They are as useful as the smaller beads but have bigger holes for bigger strings. A popular way to use pony beads is to make beaded animals. With a few feet of string and a couple of colors of pony beads, make your own variety of animals to give as gifts or use as key chains.


Instructions


1. Thread on the N bead to the center of the cord. This will give you one bead with about one foot of string exiting each side.


2. Thread two of the B beads on the left thread, and then feed the right thread through them in the opposite direction. This is called bead weaving.


Thread E, B, E beads on the left thread and pull the right thread through the opposite direction.


Thread two B beads on the left thread and pull the right thread through in the opposite direction.


Make the front legs. On the left string, thread two B beads and three F beads. Bring the thread back through the two B beads. On the right thread, thread two B beads and three F beads. Bring the thread back through the two B beads.


3. Thread two B beads on the left string and pull the right string back through in the opposite direction.


Thread three B beads on the left string and pull the right string back through in the opposite direction.


Thread four B beads on the left string and pull the right string back through in the opposite direction.


Thread four B beads on the left string and pull the right string back through in the opposite direction.


Thread four B beads on the left string and pull the right string back through in the opposite direction.


Thread three B beads on the left string and pull the right string back through in the opposite direction.


4. Make the back legs. On the left string, thread two B beads and three F beads. Bring the thread back through the two B beads. On the right string, thread two B beads and three F beads. Bring the thread back through the two B beads.


Thread two B beads on the left thread and pull the right thread back through in the opposite direction.


5. Thread one B bead on the left thread and pull the right thread back through in the opposite direction.


Repeat this last step six times to create the tail.


6. Pull the strings tightly to take out any slack. Tie the two strings together in a double knot. Snip the ends.
