Be A Fashion Show Producer

Perhaps you have dreamt of working in the great fashion cities such as New York, Paris or Milan. Maybe modeling isn't for you but fashion production is. Producing fashion shows means making the magic happen. It involves picking the outfits, setting, lights and models. It is grueling and stressful work but when it pays off it really pays off. Everyone will come to your shows, rock stars, royalty, the sky is the limit. If this type of lifestyle appeals to you then you need to hit the ground running as soon as possible. In this article we will show you become a fashion producer.

Instructions

1. Know the industry. Study everything you can about the latest fashion trends. Know which designers are up and coming and those that are here to stay. The more you know about the industry, the better prepared you will be.

2. Study fashion in school. You may not want to be a designer; however, knowledge of fabrics and how they will react with lighting and skin tones will come in very handy when it comes time to put your very expensive model in the catwalk line-up. Find a good fashion school or try to apprentice with another producer.

3. Get in at any level of the fashion game and work your way up. You may be the person who sweeps up afterwards but, who cares? It's a step. Work hard and learn as much as you can before you move on.

4. Keep you next move in mind. You may like doing menial tasks but you need to keep your eyes on the prize. Always appreciate where you are but know where you want to go next and work toward it. Being humble will get you no where in the fashion industry.

5. Try putting on your own show. Even if the venue is tiny, it is experience. If you do a good job, you will start to make a name for yourself.
