Female Movie Character Costume Ideas

Stiletto heels are a must when it come to sexy female movie character costumes.

There are some fabulous female film characters to choose from when it comes to costumes. It’s important to keep in mind though that most people do not have the resources or budgets Hollywood productions do. While it may be a novel idea to outfit yourself as Joan of Arc, the chainmail might cost too much. When choosing a costume for one night, try to be sensible. After all, most of the fantastic females you’re dressing up as are nothing if not the epitome of sensibility.

"Breakfast at Tiffany's": Holly Golightly

Every girl loves the 1961 film "Breakfast at Tiffany’s" and every girl adores Audrey Hepburn. All you’ll need for this number is a string of pearls, oversized black sunglasses, white gloves and a little black cocktail dress. Most women already have these items so it’s just a matter of putting them all together. If you want to add a little extra pizzazz to the outfit, grab an extra long cigarette holder to top it off.

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit": Jessica Rabbit

Jessica Rabbit may be a cartoon but she’s definitely found her way into the echelons of hottest female characters ever. The redheaded vixen is a sexy costume choice if you want to step out of your usual good-girl attitude and play bad. All you’ll need is a long, red dress with a slit cut high up the thigh, purple gloves and some sexy red stilettos. You may want to curl your hair for this get-up and wear your best push up bra. Once you step out the door turn on your attitude because you’ll definitely be turning heads.

"Avatar": Neytiri

If you are looking for something new and exciting for your costume, Neytiri from the 2009 blockbuster "Avatar" could be fun. This strong Na’vi tribe member is one kick-butt chick with a great body and a tail to boot. The costume is simple enough to make. It only requires a blue or turquoise bodysuit and a self-made tail. Paint your face to match the rest of your blue skin, braid your hair and enjoy the spandex.

"Grease": Sandy Olsson

Sandy from "Grease" is also an old favorite when it comes to female movie character costumes. It’s a great idea for good girls and bad girls depending on what type of mood you’re in. If you want to do the good girl look, grab a pink jacket, sew the words "Pink Ladies" on the back and throw on a poodle skirt. Tie your hair up into a cute ponytail and away you go.

If you want to go for the bad girl look, use the same "Pink Ladies" jacket but make sure you unzip it enough to show some cleavage. If you don’t like pink, trade the jacket for an off-the-shoulder black top with a thick waist belt. Dig out your tight, black leather pants and stiletto heels and you’ll be ready to catch yourself a hot Danny any day. Make sure you curl your hair and use lots of hairspray for that retro vibe.
