Using water to remove paint splatters on windows can make more of a mess than the original splatter. It's best to let the paint dry and then apply hot vinegar to the dried paint on the window. Vinegar is also beneficial for removing paint from other types of glass, and acrylic paint from paint brushes. It's important to try applying vinegar to the paint before using any type of razor blade tool on the glass.
Instructions
1. Make sure the paint is dry before you remove it. If you try removing the paint from a glass or window before it's dry using vinegar you could create a smear on the glass.
2. Pour 2 cups of distilled white vinegar into a microwave-safe container. Heat the vinegar in your microwave for 25 to 30 seconds. Be careful when taking the vinegar out of your microwave.
3. 4
Let the vinegar sit on the dry paint for at least five minutes if it doesn't come right off after rubbing it with the cotton ball. Apply the hot vinegar again, but with a clean paint brush this time instead of a cotton ball. Also, you may need to reheat the vinegar again.
5. Use a razor blade as a last resort if the paint still remains. Continue applying the hot vinegar to loosen up the paint more before using the blade, and be extremely careful not to scratch the glass.
