To make money in crazy ways, just look around you and see what you can use to an advantage. Look at yourself, your possessions, your house, the time you have -- anything that you can put to good use without exposing yourself to risk. While thinking up ideas, remember that people always look for services to make their life easier. They will not mind paying someone to do jobs that are messy, difficult or time-consuming. Offer a service that no one provides or price your services lower than that charged by professionals.
Instructions
1. Find a use for your hair. If you have long hair, contact beauty schools and ask if they want a model on whose hair students can practice. Don't worry about how you will look later; students are given a lot of cutting practice on wigs before they can get near real hair. Alternatively, find a wig maker and sell your hair. Keep track of how much time your hair needs to grow back and get into a deal of doing this on a regular basis.
2. Sell your unused items online. Look around your home and find things you don't really use. Arrange these items to look appealing and position each one separately. Using a camera, click snaps of these, upload them onto online sites like eBay and say they are for sale. Watch as people clamor to bid for your unwanted stuff.
3. Become an "extra" for TV programs. Find casting agencies and offer to be part of the audience or the background crowd on TV shows. Use any special skill you have, like horse riding or skating, to get higher-paying projects. Keep away from agencies that ask for a signing up fee, though.
4. Rent out unused space. Consider using your garage. If you have a huge garage, offer it as parking space for offices located in the vicinity. Make sure that your car is out on most days, or that you have an option of parking on the street, before making this offer. Alternatively, offer a part of your garage as a storage unit for people in your locality who cannot afford a professional storage rental. Make sure your garage is secure, rodent and leak proof before you begin accepting consignments.
5. Offer pet-sitter services. If you like pets and have enough space in your house, keep pets for people away on vacation. Read up about taking care of pets like dogs, cats, guinea pigs and hamsters, and any other pets people in your area have. Spread word of your services. Offer to take care of pets at the pet owner's home on a regular basis -- include grooming, walking and cleaning services.
6. Offer to do messy jobs. Get together a few teenagers in your neighborhood. Propose a plan to offer services like mowing lawns, cleaning cars, raking leaves and cleaning pet litter. Decide upon an income-sharing ratio. Fix up a day for the job, make groups of twos or threes and go from door to door in the neighborhood, offering to do the cleaning up. If the youngsters are embarrassed to do it in their locality, move your operations to another part of town where people don't know them.
