Use Reverb In Professional Tools

Reverb is an essential tool in mixing a song. It adds a sense of depth and space to your recordings. There are many reverb plug-ins that you can buy, but Pro Tools comes with a versatile reverb of its own for free as well.

Instructions

1. Create a new audio track. Go to File - New Track and select "audio track."

2. Create a new auxiliary track. Go to File - New Track and select "aux track."

3. Record some audio into your audio track by pressing record. Press stop after you finish recording.

4. Insert a reverb plug-in into your track. Click the insert button on your aux track. A pop-up menu will appear.

5. Select reverb from the pop-up menu. Choose "D-VERB" from the sub-menu that appears.

6. Create a send. Click the send button on your audio track. A pop-up menu will appear.

7. Set your busses. Choose which busses to use for your send by selecting them from the pop-up menu. For this example choose "bus 1-2." These busses will literally "send" your audio to your reverb aux track.

8. Set the input for your aux track. Click the input button on your aux track. Set the input to the same busses that you set in step 7. This will be "bus 1-2."

9. Set the volume fader on your aux track. By moving the volume fader you can control the amount of reverb applied to your track.

10. Hit play. Now when you play your track you should hear reverb added to your audio track. That's it! You now know use reverb in Pro Tools!
