Make Movies For Virtual Dj

Many people use Virtual DJ software for their own listening pleasure. Many more people use it for their DJ and karaoke businesses. It is user- friendly, and the video component makes life easier for DJs. Gone are the days of digging through CDGs (karaoke CDs) to find songs. The video component can help in other ways, too. You can use it to show a video slide show of pictures from your shows, a promo video or even just a little something for fun.

Instructions

1. Look at your video software. You will need to determine what kind of video software you have, the picture and sound quality and what type of file will the video save as. Get all the specs before you begin making the video.

2. Find out what files to use. Open up Virtual DJ. Go to the "Config" tab and click. The "Configuration" box will pop up. Click on the "Codecs" tab. That box will open up a list. This is a list of all the file types supported by Virtual DJ. It is a pretty comprehensive list, but if your file type is not listed you have two options. You can find another software package for video, or you can try to add it. Click the "Add" button. A box will pop up, and you will need to key in the extension and the decoder.

3. Record or create your video. If it is a regular action video, record it with your camera of choice. Make you're your camera and your software are compatible. If you are making a photo slideshow video, you will be uploading the pictures straight to the software and doing your magic from there.

4. Download your video. If you made a photo slideshow video ignore this step. If you used a camera, download the video. If it needs to be manually converted, make sure to do this before you proceed.

5. Use the editing tools on the software to clean up, change and add the finishing touches to your video. Some software will even have character generators and effects built in for you to use. Preview the video in the software. Make changes as needed. Save your video, and remember where you saved it.

6. Open up Virtual DJ. Make sure the "Show Video" option is selected; otherwise you will never find the video. Click on the drive to which you saved it. Now it should be saved to the search function of the software. Drag the video to one of the turntables and press "Play." The video should play in a small window. If you want the video to appear larger, extend it to the edges of the monitor or hook up another AV option.
