The spectator thinks of a number between 1 and 10, memorizes a card based on her number and hands the deck to the magician. Without ever seeing the deck, and with the deck behind his back, the magician finds the chosen card. Here is how it's done.
Instructions
1. Have the spectator pick a number between 1 and 10. Have her shuffle afterwards.
2. Once she shuffles, have her count down to the chosen number, memorize the card at that point, but leave it where it is. For instance, if she picked 6, count down to the sixth card and memorize it.
3. Take the deck and place it behind your back.
4. Count off 19 cards immediately, replacing them on top of the deck, which reverses the order.
5. Let her know that her chosen card will be the twentieth card after the 19 counted down.
6. Bring the deck to the front and ask her what her chosen number was. If she says 7, then begin your count at 8, counting down until 20.
7. When you reach the twentieth card, ask her to identify the card she memorized. Dramatically turn yours over to reveal it is the same!
