Audition For Any Reality Television Show

Many individuals desire the fame that can come from appearing on a reality TV show. Not only is there fame involved, but if the reality TV show has "winners," you can reap monetary benefits and other rewards as well. There are so many reality TV shows out there that if you play your cards right, you might get lucky enough to appear on one of them. To increase your chances of being on a show, do your research. If a talent is required to be on the show, your should also practice, practice, and practice some more.

Auditioning for a Reality TV Program


1. Watch the reality TV show that you are interested in appearing on. By watching the show, you can learn what types of individuals the casting directors are looking for. In most cases, you should be a person who has a lot of personality and appeals to the camera.


2. Visit the website of the reality TV show. Click on the "Participants" or "Be On The Show" link. The exact wording will vary.


3. Read the guidelines for appearing on the show. For example, "Extreme Home Makeover" requires that you own a home in order to be a participant. "Shark Tank" requires that you have a business idea or invention. "The Nanny" requires that you have children. In order be on "Wife Swap," you must be married.


4. Read to see whether or not the reality TV show has an upcoming "Open Casting Call." If so, the date, time, and location for the casting call will be mentioned.


5. Attend the casting call and put on your best performance in an effort to be chosen for the show. Note that some reality TV shows do not hold casting calls. For that reason, you may have to print and mail a completed participant application by a certain deadline. You may also have to submit a short video indicating why you want to appear on the show.


6. Wait to hear from the producer or casting director. If you are chosen to appear on the show you will be notified. If you are not chosen, you will likely not be contacted, due to the overwhelming number of applicants trying to get on the show.
