Make Music In Mabinogi

If you're not familiar with Mabinogi, you may think it can be found on a map somewhere between Kenya and Cameroon. But you'd be looking in the wrong place. Mabinogi is an online world that was created by the South Korean company, Nexon. In this world, people create characters and play games that helps those characters acquire "skills" like fighting, cooking and making music. Here's a quick step-by-step guide to become a Mabinogi music-making master.

Instructions

1. Go to the Mabinogi homepage. Membership is free, so go right ahead and set up an account (see Resources below).

2. Create your character and get a feel for the game mechanics. As your character "ages" (about a year for each week spent playing the game) he will have the opportunity to learn more skills. Musical ability is one of these skills that you can select to pursue.

3. Locate the bookshop in the game, in the town of Dunbarton, and spend some time "talking" to the owner, Aeira, about skills. Eventually, she may give you the book entitled "Music Theory." This will tell you all you need to know in order to begin to make music in Mabinogi.

4. Alternatively, if you have enough gold accumulated in the game, you can simply buy the book either from Aeira or Nele, who sell a large number of titles that open up your in-game ability to make music. "Music Theory" sells for about 80,000 gold pieces.

5. As you follow the specific steps detailed in this book and subsequent books such as "The History of Music in Erinn" and "Wind Instruments: Making Melodies with my Breath," more and more ways to make music will be opened to your virtual character. However, there aren't any shortcuts. Without taking the time to explore the world of Mabinogi, you will not be able to unlock the skill level necessary to make music.
