California square dance clubs meet and hold events at various locations throughout the state. Most clubs in the state meet once or twice a week. Adults of all ages are welcomed to join the clubs. Beginning square dancers can learn the art form by attending one of the classes some of the clubs offer.
Ocean Wavers Square Dance Club
Meetings for new dancers are held in person at the club on Thursdays. As of April 2010, new member meetings were held starting at 7 p.m. at the Vista Townsite Community Center in downtown Vista, California. Club dancing and workshops follow the new members meeting. The first Friday of each month is designated as party night. Members can serve as guest callers, or people who call out the specific types of dance steps members will conduct on party night. Refreshments are served at the monthly first Friday event.

Interlocked Squares
Founded in 1997, Interlocked Squares holds classes for new and long time members. The club has three callers who teach classes. Classes run for about six months and cover calls, square dance jargon and basic and advanced dance steps. Adult guests of all ages are invited to join the Interlocked Squares. Membership dues are required annually.

Penny Arcades
As of April 2010, Penny Arcades held square dance workshops on Tuesdays starting at 7 p.m. at the Stella Brockman Elementary School in Manteca, California. Workshops are also held on the first, second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Senior Center located at 295 Cherry Lane. Guests are invited to attend a workshop and join the club.

Stanford Quads
Stanford Quads has three callers who teach classes at the club. Basic classes are taught by the club once a year. Classes cover a variety of steps including circle left and right, single file promenade, pass thru, wheel around, horseshoe turn and triple trade. The club dances on Sunday evenings starting at 7 o'clock. Guests are invited to attend weekly dance events. Stanford Quads creates a newsletter throughout the year that covers square dance jargon and upcoming club events.
