There is no other voice as distinctive as the bass. The vocal patterns of a bass are longer and slower than other parts. They are slow enough for the body to actually feel the waves as well as hear them. Unfortunately, you can not simply train to be a bass. But if you already have the range, following these steps will make you a true bass in no time.
Instructions
1. Learn correct vocal standards for bass, which takes more energy for the vocal waves to reach the audience than other parts. You need to be sure to keep you tongue flat and your soft pallet raised. Use your diaphragm to move the air. The standard range for a bass is the G above middle C to the D below middle C.
2. Say the consonant at the beginning of the word you sing firmly to help engage your diaphragm and hit the low notes. Proper body positioning for low notes is the same positioning you would use on the high notes. Keep your shoulders straight, chin in, soft palette raised, your tongue flat and support your voice with your diaphragm.
3. Act like a bass. There is more to being a bass than just hitting the low notes. Where the sopranos are the divas, the bass are the Casanovas of the music world. You must carry yourself in a calm, cool and confident manner. The bass singers are the ones that swoon the women and melt the hearts of the audience.
