Use Undisclosedrecipient In Outlook Express

Protect recipient e-mail addresses with the BCC feature in Outlook Express.

Outlook Express remains a popular and user-friendly e-mail client provided by Microsoft. Used by individuals and businesses alike, Outlook Express provides a centralized location for sending and receiving e-mail from multiple accounts. The ability to send messages to groups of people without disclosing each recipient's e-mail address is a beneficial feature that helps users remain efficient and protect their contacts' privacy.

Instructions

1. Create a new e-mail message. Click the "Create Mail" icon in the top left corner of the Outlook Express program window. This opens a new, blank e-mail message.

2. Select message recipients. Click the small icon beside "To:" at the top of the e-mail window. Another smaller window appears containing a list of your saved contacts. Scroll through the list and highlight your desired contacts, then click the "BCC:" button to hide those particular e-mail addresses from other recipients. Once all chosen e-mail addresses have been added to the "BCC:" field, click the "OK" button to return to the main e-mail window.

3. Compose your message. In the blank white area below the recipients, type your e-mail or add the desired content. Once your e-mail is completely and successfully created, click the "Send" button at the top of the message window. Recipients will receive your e-mail without a list of the other contacts, and will instead see the words "Undisclosed Recipients."
