Apply Blackboard Fresh paint

Chalkboard paint is a fun way to decorate a room. Use it in a play area, child's room or even next to the phone to record messages. The possibilities are endless! This paint can be purchased in most home improvement stores.

Instructions

1. Prepare the area for painting. You may have decided to use molding or shelves to frame out the area, or to go with a frameless chalkboard. Whichever you have chosen, it is important to tape off the section using painter's tape so not to paint on any other walls.

2. Apply primer to the selected area. Make sure to cover all of the selected area and allow primer to dry thoroughly before moving to Step 3.

3. Using your 150-grit sandpaper, sand the selected area and remove all dust completely before beginning to paint.

4. Apply several coats to ensure that you have covered all areas. Sanding in between applying coats will assist in maintaining a smooth surface when your project is complete.

5. Allow your paint to dry completely. Some manufacturers recommend waiting 3 days. Check the manufacturer's recommendations for the paint you decided to use for your project.
