The annual Astoria Music and Arts Festival is held in Astoria Park each July. Numerous stages present festival-goers with a continual line up of some of the area's best local bands, and performances by celebrity comedians. The event also hosts an art gallery and an assortment of foods from local vendors.

Each August, Astoria Park also draws crowds with its annual Water Walk event. Created in an attempt to inspire more people to enjoy walking outside, the Water Walk promotes three car-free Sunday afternoons along Astoria Park's Shore Boulevard, along the East River. Each year, the event presents a variety of festivities and attractions, including local musicians, food and plenty of activities. Past Water Walk events have included live demonstrations from hula hoopers and belly dancers, a pet parade and theater performances.
