Election For The American Idol Show

"American Idol" is a reality music television show known worldwide in which hopeful contestants compete against one another in singing competitions for a chance to win a professional recording contract. The show, which debuted in 2002, was created by Simon Fuller and is hosted by Ryan Seacrest. "American Idol" has a panel of judges which consists of Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres (who replaced longtime judge Paula Abdul). The main responsibility of the judges is to critique the individual performances of the contestants during the show. Winners are determined by viewer votes; every week contestants are voted off until one winner stands. Past winners include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry and Jordan Sparks. You cannot vote online for "American Idol" contestants; the only methods of voting are through text messaging or telephone.


Instructions


1. Watch "American Idol" and pick your favorite contestant.


2. During each show, contestants have corresponding toll-free numbers and text message codes that are displayed during their performances. Remember or write down these numbers.


3. You must wait until after the show is over to vote. You cannot vote during the show. Voting is open for two hours after the completion of each show.


4. If you decide to vote by phone, simply call the toll-free number specific to your favorite performer.


5. If you vote by text (this only applies to AT&T Mobility subscribers), you must send the word "VOTE" to the text message code provided for your favorite contestant. Do not send the text to the toll-free number.


6. For AT&T users, standard fees apply. If you vote by telephone, you will not be charged unless you vote with a cell phone that charges you minutes on your plan.
