Canaan Valley State Park
Canaan Valley State Park is approximately 10 miles from the Dolly Sods Wilderness. This state park is also a resort and conference center. Guests may stay in the lodge or in cabins and there are several campsites available as well. Canaan Valley features skiing, golf, a climbing wall and a pool among other activities. There is also a Nature Center that can help you plan a hike or mountain bike trip during your visit.

Blackwater Falls State Park
Blackwater Falls State Park is located approximately 21 miles from the Dolly Sods Wilderness. The Blackwater River runs through the park and Canaan Valley and the waterfalls drop five stories and make a breathtaking view. The park covers 2,456 acres and has 24 miles of trails. Camping and cabins are available for guests year-round. You can enjoy hiking, cross-country skiing and sled riding during your visit.

Other Parks
The Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls State Parks are the only two parks in the Canaan Valley area near Dolly Sods. There are a couple of other state parks within 100 miles of Dolly Sods that you can consider visiting if you have time.
The Lost River State Park in Mathias, W. Va. is approximately 78 miles from Dolly Sods. The park covers 3,712 acres and offers activities such as hiking and horseback riding.
