Switch Off Mute On The Panasonic Dect 6 Cord-less Phone

Turn Off Mute on a Panasonic DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone

Panasonic offers several versions of cordless phones that operate using the Digital Enhancement Cordless Telephone (DECT) standard, version 6.0. This system of cordless phone communications replaced the earlier 900MHz standard. It is more secure and offers greater range. All Panasonic model cordless phones offer a mute feature that allows you to temporarily turn off the phone's microphone during a call, and still hear the other party.

Instructions

Base Unit

1. Dial an outgoing call or answer an incoming call. You may use either the phone's handset, or base station unit, depending on your exact phone model.

2. Press the "Mute" button on the base station to activate the mute feature. The speakerphone indicator light will flash once to alert you that you successfully muted the call. The "Mute" button will be clearly marked with the word "Mute," and is usually located along the left side of the numeric keys. The microphone is now disabled and the other party will not be able to hear you.

3. Press the "Mute" button on the base unit to turn off the mute feature and re-activate the microphone. The speakerphone indicator light will blink one time.

Handset

4. Dial an outgoing call or answer an incoming call. Use either the phone's handset or base station unit, depending on your exact phone model.

5. Press the right soft-key on the handset to activate the mute feature. The soft-keys are the buttons located directly below the display. During a call, the word "Mute" will be displayed above the right soft-key. The call is now muted.

6. Press the right soft-key to re-activate the microphone and turn off the mute feature. When the phone is muted, the word "Unmute" will be displayed above the right soft-key.
