Fresh paint " Old World " Wall Wall art

A painted mural on a wall in your home will emphasize any room.

Wall murals add a distinctly beautiful addition to any room. The Old World look crafts the wall to appear aged and rustic. You can add several additional features to the background paint, such as a scene of famous philosophers like Socrates and Aristotle. You may also want to paint an Old World map complete with a boarder of Latin writing. The possibilities are endless. With paint and a creative imagination, you can accent any wall with scenic delight.

Instructions

1. Pour finishing glaze paint into the paint pan. Slide your paint roller back and forth in the paint until roller is completely covered in paint. Begin painting the entire wall with the roller, re-dipping the roller in paint as needed. Apply 2 coats of paint.

2. Grasp cheesecloth or sponge in your hand and rub the paint on the wall in circular motions, while it is still wet. This will produce a faux finishing look. Let the wall dry overnight.

3. Sketch your Old World scene on the wall with a pencil. Begin painting the scene with the acrylic paints and a small paintbrush. Remember to rinse your paintbrush when changing colors. Let the paint dry for 2 days.

4. Apply a gloss water-based varnish to the entire wall using a large paintbrush. Let the varnish dry overnight. Apply a second coat of varnish to improve the clarity of the final finish.
