Just a Latin Affair


The Pearl Street Pub hosts a Latin Night every Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. in the Dirty Martini Lounge. Take a free 30-minute salsa lesson combined with a 30-minute chacha, merengue or bachata lesson by Juan Soler from Albany Salsa Dance Studio, of Menands, New York from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a $7 cover charge as of April 2010.

Noche Latina


Every second Saturday Christine with Albanyhotspots.net hosts a Noche Latina at the Pearl Street Pub in the Upper Room Lounge. The dance floor is open from 9:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. with a half-hour dance lesson by Christine for a $7 cover charge as of April 2010 and a live DJ. According to Christine, June 2010, may bring casino rueda salsa lessons from 9:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. for $10, with an open dance floor at 10:15 p.m. for $7. If there is a scheduling conflict, Latina Noche may be scheduled for the third Saturday of the month.

Salsa Social


Salsa Social takes place on the third or fourth Saturday of the month from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a dance workshop from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., through the fall, winter and spring seasons, in Troy (New York) Masonic Hall, for $7 cover charge as of April 2010 (price changes for special events). Troy is part of the capitol region and is eight miles from Albany. According to Salsasocialny.com, dance socials are held on weekends and provide a relaxed social atmosphere for mingling and dancing. Dolce Vita, in Schenectady, New York, is held every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to midnight, with salsa and Latin hustle lessons from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., with Juan Soler of Albany Salsa Dance Studio, of Menands, New York. Schenectady is 15 miles from Albany, New York and is part of the capitol region. There is no cover charge and no DJ. Dolce Vita is also a restaurant and dinner specials run on Tuesdays starting at 5 p.m.
