What Things Use Fresh paint

Don't limit yourself to using paint on walls, as you can use paint on many different surfaces.

When you think of paint, the first thing that usually comes to mind is painting walls. However, there are many other projects that you can start in your home using paint. Paint can breath new life into a room by making it look fresh and new when used on the ceiling, on the floor and on furniture. By choosing the right kind of paint, which comes in an endless array of colors, you can make almost anything in your home look brand new.

Paint the Ceiling

Using paint on your ceiling can make a room look larger or smaller. Usually, white is used to paint most ceilings; however, other colors may also be used. Generally, in smaller rooms, use lighter colors, such as white or beige, to make them seem larger and use darker colors in larger rooms for a cozy, intimate feel. It is important that you use paint that's specifically made for ceilings, as this type of paint is thicker and can cover surface flaws such as stains or watermarks.

Paint the Floor

You can paint the floor of your garage, basement, porch or patio using floor paint or stains. These floors are usually overlooked but can be kept looking clean and protected from stains by painting them. When painting floors located outdoors, make sure that you use paint intended for the outdoors as it stands up to harsher temperatures and everyday wear. Floor paint can be used on wood and concrete and is usually oil-based, which is ideal for porches and patios, or latex-based, which is ideal for garages.

Paint Furniture and Accessories

Whether you need to retouch your furniture or want a complete change, using paint to complete the job is an excellent choice. The kind of paint you use depends on the material of your furniture. You can paint chairs and tables made of wood using spray paint or oil- or latex-based paint and paint furniture with chrome using spray paint as well. Additionally, you can find spray paint that's made especially for some things that you'll find in your home, such as outdoor furniture, kitchen appliances and plastic furniture and accessories.
