Times Square in New York City is one of the most crowded entertainment places in the country. Thousands of people visit every day, and those crowds mean that many theaters have sprung up to cater to them. Nowhere else in America can you find such a concentration of theaters and comedy clubs, even into the late-night hours. Carolines School of Comedy has a large theater that serves drinks, as well as an attached restaurant. Tickets cost between $15 and $53 with a two-drink minimum in the evenings. You must be at least 18 years of age. Besides Carolines' high-energy atmosphere, comedy students occasionally perform, affording you the opportunity to see new comedians in the making.

Times Square Arts Center
Times Square Arts Center offers a variety of shows, mainly comedy. They charge $20 at the door with a two-drink minimum, and you must be 18 years of age. The center has a gourmet restaurant in the building, and the comedy club serves bar food. As the name suggests, the center is right off of Times Square, making it the most convenient comedy club if you don't want to walk far.

Ha! Comedy Club
Ha! Comedy Club is a bargain-priced comedy club, with only a $9 cover charge (a deal in New York) and a two-drink minimum. The club serves bar food and some Italian food, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The comedians are often local, and the club has an open mic night if you want to try your talent or see prospective up-and-coming comedians.
