Draw a Graduation Cap
Graduation is a special time in a person's life and that person's family. Art and illustration can be a great way to immortalize these moment's in a person's life. One of the most recognizable symbols of graduation is the graduation cap. Once you learn draw a graduation cap, you can place the illustration on a flier, special card, envelope or other commemorative media. This illustration could be a great way to save the memory of a special graduation and requires a minimal amount of effort and supplies.
Instructions
1. Draw a diagonally pointing square for the top of the hat. The corners of this shape should point to the middle of each edge. Make this shape seem three-dimensional by adding a long thin rectangle to the bottom right and left sides of the square. Add the cap with two sideways "V" shapes that are connected to each other just below the bottom corner of the square.
2. Add a small circle in the middle of the square. Add two diagonal parallel lines crossing the bottom left side of the hat. This will act as the tassel. Continue this down vertically. Connect a circle to the tassel near the left corner of the square. Draw the frays of the tassel with a long, curved triangular shape.
3. Add small thin triangles above each corner of the square to show the slight folds of fabric on the hat. Add a curved parallel line around the bottom left and right edges of the cap section.
4. Erase any of the guidelines that are overlapping. Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry and use your kneaded eraser to erase all of the pencil lines.
