Plan An Appeal For Any Floating Structure

A floating structure might be approved with an appeal.

A floating structure, such as a platform built in the air, or a structure built over water, usually requires a permit. If your floating structure has been denied for whatever reason, you can appeal to the city or state to have it approved. Planning your appeal is important because a good appeal will have a greater chance of being successful.

Instructions

1. Read the reasons that your floating structure was not approved. It could be because of a city ordinance, or your permit could have been denied because it was not filled in correctly, or it could not have been approved for any number of reasons. Understanding the reason that your structure was not approved will help you understand how you can appeal.

2. Find out about the laws and regulations in your area. If your floating structure was not approved because of a law, it could be that an appeal wouldn't be worth it because there is no way it will be approved. However, if you cannot find a law that states what you want to do is illegal, you have a better chance of getting your appeal approved.

3. Download or obtain the forms for an appeal process. No matter what organization has denied your permit, you will be able to appeal in some way. Make sure that you find the right forms for the appeal.

4. Plan your appeal carefully. In order to appeal, you need to have reasons that your permit for a floating structure should be accepted. You might also need examples of how your floating structure will benefit the area, or examples of structures similar to yours that were already approved.
