In "Pokemon Diamond," for a fee, you can leave up to two Pokemon at the Solaceon Town Day Care. As you travel, those Pokemon will grow to new levels without your training methods. In addition, if those two Pokemon are fond of each other, they will mate and produce an egg, which the Day Care attendants will give you upon your return. If you can hatch the egg, you can add a new Pokemon to your growing team.
Instructions
1. Travel to Solaceon Town, which is located in central Sinnoh.
2. Go to the Day Care in the northwest section of town.
3. Talk to the elderly man in front of the building to add the Pokemon egg to your active party.
4. Travel to the Pokemon Center on the east side of town.
5. Add a Pokemon that possesses the Flame Body or Magma Armor to your active party using the Pokemon Center's computer. These abilities will shorten the required amount of steps you need to take for the egg to hatch. If you don't have a Pokemon with Flame Body or Magma Armor, you can complete the hatching process without one; however, it will take longer.
6. Exit the Pokemon Center and walk around the map. After a specific number of steps, the egg will hatch. The number of steps depends of what species of Pokemon is in the egg; however, you can always check the hatching progress by selecting the egg in your status menu.
