Making Picasso faces is a fun way to teach young artists about the famous abstract artist, Pablo Picasso. They will learn how Picasso used simple lines to create ordinary faces and then rearranged the ordinary faces to appear like abstract faces.
Instructions
Picasso Face 1
1. Draw a different face on each piece of construction paper.
2. Color the faces with crayons and colored markers.
3. Cut the faces apart and use the parts to create a new and different, abstract face.
4. Glue the new face to the large piece of construction paper.
5. Use the crayons and markers to add any new details, if desired.
6. Frame the Picasso face.

7. Draw an oval shape with a white crayon.
8. Divide the face down the middle, and create a profile from one of the halves, with the face looking inward towards the other half. The first side should have a regular eye and the profile side should have an eye from a side view.
9. Draw a mouth with oil pastels.
10. Draw simple but crazy-looking hair with oil pastels, making sure that each hair is individually drawn.
11. Use the black pastel to outline every line in the drawing.
12. Color the picture with oil pastels. Each side of the face should be a different color.
13. Frame the Picasso face and display it proudly.
