Summer time Camps In Austin Tx

Summer camps in Austin are a way of keeping children entertained during the school vacation. They also serve to educate and cover a broad spectrum of sports, arts and crafts and sciences while learning about life on camp and various camping skills. Kidventure Camps for Kids


Kidventure has weeklong camp locations in the Austin and Houston areas for boys and girls. The Austin camps are at Camp Bridge Point, Camp Eanes, Camp St. Gabriel's and Camp Steiner. Campers are divided into three categories for different age groups. They are the Discoverers (ages 3 to 5), Explorers (ages 6 to 8) and Adventurers (ages 9 to 13). Sports activities are organized, including athletics, basketball, volleyball and field sports. Other activities include field trips, art projects, science projects, scavenger hunts and natural studies. There is an awards ceremony to which family and friends can attend where awards are given for accomplishments at the camp. There is also a talent swhich parents are invited. Discoverers are not allowed on field trips.

iD Tech Camps


The computer and technology camps are organized across 60 locations in the U.S. and Canada. The location for Austin is the St. Edward's University campus. There are day camps, overnight camps and weeklong camps for boys and girls, and the age eligibility is 7 to 17 years old. The Austin program is divided into five categories of interest. They are Video Game Design, Game Modeling and 3D Modeling, Web and Graphic Design, Video Editing and Photography and Programming and Robotics. The courses are delivered for novices and advanced students in the topics. The average instructor to student ratio is one instructor for six students. Courses are hands on and students present their completed projects when parents attend at the end of the course.

Wet & Wild Adventure Camp


Wet & Wild operate day camps for ages 8 to 15 and there are approximately 45 children in each field trip. The company, which is based in Austin, provide a counselor for every 10 campers at the least and all the counselors possess lifeguard certificates. The campers travel to various venues in central Texas, including five water parks, on air conditioned buses. Two of the most well known venues are the Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park and the Schlitterbahn water park. Outdoor activities on the field trips include tubing down rivers, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, bowling and skating. Children also have the opportunity play video games, tackle an adventure ropes course, play laser tag, race go karts and go to an indoor rock climbing facility. Campers participate in alternative activities if it rains, such as bowling, skating, or going to the movies.
