Attend The Kushi Institute Summer time Conference

The Kushi Institute was founded by Michio and Aveline Kushi in 1978 to promote awareness and education of the macrobiotic lifestyle. Located in Becket, Massachusetts, a New England town nestled in the Berkshire Mountains, the weeklong Kushi Institute Summer Conference continues to grow in popularity among macrobiotic devotees. Participants can choose from among more than 100 seminars, activities and events.

Instructions

1. Review the Kushi Institute Summer Conference program by visiting the Kushi Institute's website or by requesting a brochure be sent to you by mail. You can request the brochure by calling (800) 975-8744. International callers should call (413) 623-5741, extension 101.

2. Study the class descriptions to decide which of the classes you are most interested in attending. Some of the classes fill up quickly, so it is best to register early. In addition to programs for adults, the Kushi Institute Summer Conference also offers a children's program for children ages 3-6, 7-11 and 12-17.

3. Check out the list of presenters from the Kushi Institute's website (see Resources below) or by reading the conference brochure. The Kushi Institute Summer Conference is famous for bringing together some of the most notable names in macrobiotic cooking, publishing and lifestyle.

4. Register for the conference early. The earlier you register and pay in full, the less expensive it will be. Prices for the upcoming summer conference are usually set by late fall of the year preceding the conference. On-campus lodging pricing is sometimes not set until a few months later.

5. Make lodging reservations early if you will not be staying on the Kushi Institute campus. Becket and surrounding towns are lovely, but accommodations are not plentiful. The Berkshire Visitors Bureau maintains a website with a listing of available lodging.

6. Attend the Kushi Institute Summer Conference, and forge new connections with like-minded people, deepen your knowledge of macrobiotic principles and practices, relax and rejuvenate yourself.
