Learn How To Dance The Salsa Free Of Charge

Foot work is very important in Salsa dancing.


Salsa dance is a combination of many different Latin and Afro-Caribbean dances. Salsa, like the Mambo, has a pattern of six steps over eight counts of music. Salsa dancing is a combination of hard beats in music, hip movements and swift steps. The best way to learn salsa dancing for free is to work on the beginning steps by following simple written steps.


Instructions


1. Find a large clear area to practice beginning salsa steps with ease.


2. Start with your feet together about one inch apart and arms by your sides to learn the basic salsa step. This is called starting position.


3. Step forward with the left foot and count aloud one. Step in place with the right foot and count two. Step with the left foot back to starting position and count three. Hold in starting position for count four.


4. Step back with the right foot and count five. Step in place with the left foot and count six. Step with the right foot back into starting position and count seven. Hold in starting position for count eight.


5. Repeat steps two and three and gradually pick up the speed. Leave your arms slightly bent and relaxed at your sides with lightly closed fists for the salsa dancing style.


6. Turn on salsa music and practice counting to the music aloud.


7. Practice your beginning salsa steps with the music while still counting aloud. Do this until you are comfortable with the quick and swift movements.


8. Add hip movement and turns to your salsa dancing steps.
